Riding through the rolling Tuscan hills, across the legendary white gravel roads, feels like stepping into cycling’s purest form — raw, demanding, and deeply rewarding.
In 2024, I had the privilege to take part in the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche, starting from Siena and finishing in the iconic Piazza del Campo after 144 kilometres and nearly 2,000 metres of climbing. The course took me across the famous sectors of sterrato — from the twisting Crete Senesi to the punishing ramps before the final climb into Siena’s old town.
Every sector was a test of strength, focus, and determination. And yet, the feeling of crossing that finish line — covered in dust, surrounded by the atmosphere of history and passion — made every kilometre worthwhile.
